Men's Lacrosse Falls to Potsdam in OT on Senior Day

Brockport, NY - The Brockport men's lacrosse team was defeated on Senior Day, 11-10, against Potsdam on Saturday, April 27th. The Golden Eagles will finish the season with a 4-11 overall record and 2-5 mark in SUNYAC play, missing out on the postseason.
 
Nick Askin led all scorers with six goals and seven points, finishing the 2024 season with 63 goals and seven assists for 70 points. Askin officially sets a new single-season program record for points to go with his single-season record for goals.
 
Carson Colucci would open the games scoring, thanks to an assist from Nate Askin to put Brockport ahead 1-0.
 
Following a quick response from Potsdam, Nick Askin (2) and Marc Zappula would score 3 of the game's next 4 goals, putting Brockport ahead 4-2 early in the 2nd period.
 
The Bears would take control in the 2nd quarter, outscoring the Golden Eagles 6-1 in the period with 6 unanswered goals, taking an 8-4 lead into halftime.
 
In a game full of runs, Brockport would flip the script, outscoring Potsdam 6-1 in the third quarter thanks to goals from Nick Askin (4) and Ben Hay (2) to take a 10-8 lead.
 
The Bears would secure the final scoring run of the game, outscoring Brockport 2-0 in the fourth to force overtime. Peyton Walsh would bury the golden goal in overtime to down Brockport 11-10.
 
Nate Askin led all players with 3 assists, putting 5 shots on net in the contest.
 
Aidan Long chipped in with 2 assists, adding a ground ball on the day.
 
Ben Hay found paydirt on 2 of his 3 shots on the day, scoring 2 goals.
 
Marc Zappula and Carson Colucci added a goal each to round out the scoring for Brockport.
 
Tim Hubbard led all players with 6 ground balls and caused 2 Potsdam turnovers.
