Brockport, NY – The Golden Eagle women's lacrosse team defeated Oswego State, 14-10, at home on Thursday. With the win Brockport improves to 5-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
Alayna Foos scored four goals in the game, officially hitting 100 goals for her career.
Foos led the way with six total points, adding two assists to go with her four scores. She also caused three turnovers and grabbed two ground balls.
Tristan Davis (4G) and
Cassidy Burnash (1G, 3A) both had four points as well offensively.
Hailey Lewkovich (2G, 1A),
Sarah Kilburn (2G), and
Paige Thowe (1G) all contributed in the attacking zone.
Arianna Reed made a total of 11 saves in net for the Green and Gold. Earning the win, she is now 5-4 as a freshman starting in net for the squad.
The first quarter was all Oswego, as the visiting Lakers went up 5-0 early. They held a 5-1 lead going into the second quarter. That is when Brockport responded with a 7-1 period, surging forward for an 8-6 halftime lead.
Three more goals in the third would be key in holding off Oswego. The Golden Eagles were up 11-8 going into the final frame. The two teams would repeat the 3-2 showing in the fourth, allowing Brockport to win at home 14-10.
On Saturday, April 6
th the Golden Eagles will be back at home against Potsdam for an 11am start.
