Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport softball team was swept at home by the Geneseo Knights on Wednesday by scores of 4-2 and 14-1. The Green and Gold move to 8-24 overall with a 2-12 mark in SUNYAC play.
 
Game 1: Brockport 2, Geneseo 4
 
The first contest of the doubleheader saw both starting pitchers complete the full 7.0 innings in the circle. Brockport's Kendall Phillips (L, 5-7) got the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits to go with six strikeouts.
 
Going 1-for-3 at the dish, Tori Angelo rocked the first home run of her collegiate career in the game. Kellie Gentile and Olivia Simone both went 2-for-3 at the plate in this one. Gentile had a pair of singles, one run scored, and stole two bases. Simone also connected for two singles to go with one RBI.
 
Geneseo was able to get on the board first with four runs in the third inning, thanks to a 3-run homer. Brockport needed a home run of its own in the fifth, as Angelo put the team on the board. Simone rattled off an RBI single in the sixth to bring Gentile home for the final run of the contest.
 
Game 2: Brockport 1, Geneseo 14
 
In the second game of the doubleheader, the visiting Knights went up big early on the way to a 5-inning victory. They scored four runs in the first, four in the second, and six more in the third. The Golden Eagles prevented the shutout with a run in the fourth inning.
 
It was Aurora Sabins who provided the lone run for Brockport. Pinch hitting in the fourth she connected for an RBI single, scoring Emma DeJesus on the play. Aubrey Ennis went 1-for-2 at the plate, registering the only other hit in game two for the squad.
 
Fiona Gibiser (L, 0-7) got the start and the loss at pitcher in the game, going just 1.0 innings. Rose Stroh also threw 1.0 innings in her shift at pitcher. Hadley Alguire took her turn as well, going 0.1 innings before Phillips finished out the final 2.2.
 
The Golden Eagles are back home on Friday and Saturday for conference doubleheaders. Friday they will face Oneonta for a 3pm start to the set and then they host New Paltz for a 12pm start on Saturday.
