Multiple Golden Eagles Named All-Americans, Track & Field Wraps up Competition at NCAA Championships

Myrtle Beach, SC- The Brockport track & field team posted several impressive performances at NCAA Championships from Myrtle Beach, SC on Saturday, May 25th.
 
Rebecca Heuler: Javelin National Champion/ First Team All-American
 
On Thursday, May 23rd, Rebecca Hueler made history, recording a 47.35m throw to become the NCAA Division III National Champion in the women's javelin. In addition to setting a new outdoor program record, Hueler's 47.35m mark serves as the 16th longest in the history of the Division III women's javelin throw.
 
Jonathan Zavala: Second Team All-American (Men's 1500m)
 
In the finals of the men's 1500m on Saturday, Jonathan Zavala finished 9th overall with a 3:54.10 mark. Zavala advanced to the finals of the men's 1500m following a 9th-place finish in the first round of the 1500m on Thursday (3:53.94). Zavala finishes the season earning All-American honors in both indoor and outdoor track seasons.
 
Mia Montgomery: Second Team All-American (Women's Long Jump)
 
On Thursday, Mia Montgomery earned Second Team All-American honors following an 11th-place finish in the women's long jump (5.63m). Montgomery earns All-American honors in her third appearance at Nationals, improving on a 21st-place finish at last year's NCAA Nationals.
 
Craig Duffy, Ayden Grinion, Michael Durski, and Jacob Miller : Second Team All-Americans (4x400M Relay)
 
The foursome of Craig Duffy, Ayden Grinion, Michael Durski, and Jacob Miller earned Second-Team All-American honors following a 9th place finish in the first round of the men's 4x400m relay on Thursday (3:13.33). The 4x400m relay also took the gold at the SUNYAC Championships, clocking in at 3:18.53. 
 
Matthew Jackson: Second Team All-American (Hammer Throw)
 
Mathew Jackson secured Second Team All-American honors with a 16th-place finish in the finals of the men's hammer throw, recording a long mark of 57.03m. Jackson's best throw of the season came at SUNYAC Championships, taking first place with a mark of 59.64m, which held up to qualify for the national stage.
 
Jacob Miller: Men's 400m
 
Jacob Miller's outdoor season came to an end in the 1st round of the men's 400m on Friday, crossing the finish line in 48.15 seconds for 15th place. Miller put together an excellent season, Punching his ticket to Nationals with a 4th place performance at SUNYAC Championships with a 47.65-second mark.
