Rochester, NY- The Brockport men's soccer team outlasted the Tigers of RIT on the road, 1-0, on Friday, August 30
th. The Golden Eagles open the 2024 season 1-0, securing Brockport's first victory over RIT since the 2017 season.

The Golden Eagles would control the pace of play in the 1
st half, holding the Tigers to just 3 shots (1 SOG) across the first 45 minutes. Brockport would outshoot RIT 10-3 going into the break.

With less than 3 minutes remaining in the half,
Gael Baraldi looked to double the Brockport advantage, but was denied by RIT goalie Jason Trapp.

Starting the 2
nd half up 1-0, RIT began to ramp up the pressure, forcing a pair of
Andrew Taylor saves in the first 13 minutes.

Both teams exchanged scoring chances in the 2
nd half, with the Tigers nearly capitalizing on a scramble in front of the net with less than 2 minutes remaining. The Golden Eagles' defensive line came together to deny John Lucas's scoring chance at the 88:04 mark, helping secure a 1-0 Brockport win.

Andrew Taylor (1-0) earned a shutout win, stopping all 4 RIT shots on goal across 90 minutes of play.
