Women’s Soccer to Host Keuka for Homecoming Weekend

Brockport, NY – The Brockport women's soccer team is set to host the Keuka College Wolves on Saturday, September 21st at 2pm for their Community and Youth Celebration Game. 
 
Community and Youth Celebration – The team will welcome to the field the Brockport Soccer Club U10 Girl's team prior to the game for warmups and introductions. The team will then play a short exhibition game during halftime. 
 
Last Week Recap – On Wednesday, September 11th, the Golden Eagles hosted the Buffalo State Bengals on their home turf shutting them out 2-0. This moved the team up to 3-0-1. Megan Gerber scored early on in the game with an unassisted shot to the back of the net making this her first of the 2024 season. McKenna Slate also made her first of the season bringing the score up to 2-0 late in the second half with an assist by Jaylah Cossin. The team made a total of 18 shots with 12 on goal compared to Buffalo States five. 
 
On Saturday, September 14th, the squad traveled to Albany, NY to take on the Sage Gators in their first Empire 8 Conference matchup of the season where they made their fifth shutout of the 2024 season with a score of 1-0 bringing them to 4-0-1 overall. The team cranked out 18 shots with three on goal compared to Sage's eight with four on goal. It was a quiet first half with both teams at 0-0 going into the second period. Early on Sierra Edwards found the back of the net with an unassisted goal making this her fourth of the season. 
 
Player of the Week – On Monday, September 16th, goalkeeper Madeline McCrosson was announced as the Co-Defensive Player of the Week for Empire 8. McCrosson played a total of 180 minutes in the teams two matchups against Buffalo State and Sage making five saves against Buffalo State and put in another four against Sage. 
 
A look at Keuka – The Keuka College Wolves sit at 1-4-0 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play. The Wolves shutout Hilbert College 4-0 with two shutout losses, 0-3 against Buffalo State and 0-2 against Lycoming College. Keuka finished up the 2023 season 1-12-2 overall and 1-6-1 in Conference play. 
 
Coming up – The Green and Gold with travel to Hilbert College on Wednesday, September 25th for a 4pm start and will go on to host Hartwick on their home turf on Saturday, September 28th at 3pm for Girls Youth Soccer Day.
