Oswego, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team swept their plate on Saturday to go 3-0 at the Oswego Invitational, improving to 7-5 on the season.
The Golden Eagles defeated SUNY Canton, 3-0, and finished the day with another 3-0 win over Penn State Behrend. Both
Alexis Sison and
Elsie Logan were selected for the Oswego Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Brockport 3, Canton 0 – Final
Alexis Sison had a strong showing against the Roos to start Saturday's pair of matches. She led the squad with 11 kills (25 TA) with a healthy .360 hitting percentage. She also contributed three aces, six digs, and a block assist.
Kaitlyn Jewett and
Lauryn Forand nearly split evenly in the setter position on the floor. Jewett had 16 assists to go with four aces, while Forand had 15 assists and two aces.
Kaylee Dickerson-Holly had an efficient seven kills on a .500 hitting percentage. Both
Alenna Williamson (.333 pct) and
Anna Cascapera (.308 pct) finished with six kills.
Maddy Howell led the squad with three block assists in the middle blocker spot.
Elsie Logan was all over the court with a match-high 19 digs.
It was a sweep that began with a 25-16 win in the first set. The Golden Eagles finished it off with a 25-13 and 25-15 showing in the next two sets. They took care of business for the 3-0 win to start day two in Oswego.
Brockport 3, Penn State Behrend 0 – Final
The second sweep of the day began with a 25-18 win in the first set. Brockport then went 25-20 and 25-15 to grab the second 3-0 win of the day.
Alexis Sison once again led the Green and Gold with 11 kills to go with six digs defensively.
Alenna Williamson (.429 pct) had 10 kills and
Anna Cascapera (.455 pct) finished with seven.
This time it was
Lauryn Forand who led the Brockport setters with 18 assists.
Kaitlyn Jewett contributed 11 setups with two aces on the serve.
With 14 digs in this match,
Elsie Logan led the defensive effort once again.
Gianna Felipe was close behind with 12 digs to go with two aces.
Williamson had the lone solo block to go with one block assist.
Maddy Howell,
Lauren Emke,
Anna Cascapera all earned credit for one block assist.
The Golden Eagles will finally move to their home floor and open Empire 8 play for their next contest. They will host St. John Fisher on October 4
th for a 6pm start in the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium.
