Wrestling Dominates at Home Tri-Meet on Saturday

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport wrestling team picked up a pair of wins at home at the Brockport Tri-Meet against Utica, 55-0, and NCCC, 50-4. The Golden Eagles are still undefeated in dual action at 5-0 on the season.
 
Brockport 55, Utica 0
Starting the match off at 125, Brockport's Liam Bullock took care of business with a win by fall in just 1:45 over Utica's TJ Monahan.

Matthew Reehill followed suit with a pin in just 1:54 to defeat Logan Banks in the 133 division.

Jaden Friel added another pin to the log for the day in the 141 weight class, winning by fall in 3:12 over Utica's Terrance Walden.

Moving to 149, Spencer Maja scored another six points for the Golden Eagles with his win over Billy Beseth by fall in 4:00.

At 157, Marquis Larmond registered the team's fifth straight pin to start the Tri-Meet. He won by fall in 2:02 against Utica's Mathews Bonato.

Gavin McLaughlin scored four points for Brockport with his 12-1 major decision over Hunter Morton at 165.

In the 174 weight class, Kiam Coleman got the win by fall in 1:21 over Seth Richardson.

The 184 bout went the distance between Elijah Bonet and Andrew Mickel. Bonet gutted out a 2-1 decision victory to score for the Green and Gold.

Simon Lingle added a free set of points for Brockport, getting the win by forfeit at 197.

To close out the first match of the day, Nick Franco dominated his matchup at 285 for a win by fall in just 28 seconds.

The Golden Eagles had a dominant showing early on Saturday, 55-0, which included seven victories by fall and one major decision.

The Golden Eagles dominated in their second matchup of the day to complete the sweep at home for the Brockport Tri-Meet.

Liam Bullock earned a tech. fall win at 125, 18-3, to get the second match underway.

At 133, Matthew Reehill worked hard for a 10-8 decision victory to add to Brockport's point total.

Up next was Jaden Friel at 141, which featured a win by fall in just 4:10.

Spencer Maja at 149, Kiam Coleman at 174, and Simon Lingle at 197 all received wins by way of forfeit.

Max Morrison earned some tough points for the Green and Gold with a win by fall in 6:08 of action.

Adding another fall to the list for the day, Gavin McLaughlin took care of business in 3:36 at the 165 division.

Nick Franco wrapped up the day with another quick pin, taking the win at 285 with a fall in 1:24.

Brockport goes 2-0 at its home Tri-Meet, collecting 11 total pins, one tech. fall, and two major decision.

The Golden Eagles are back in action on Tuesday, January 14th for a dual meet against Penn State Behrend on the road. It all starts at 7pm down in Erie, PA.
