Three Golden Eagles Earn NWCA Scholar All-American Honors

Brockport, NY – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced its NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-American Awards, recognizing outstanding academic achievement by student-athletes across the country.

Following the conclusion of the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships, three members of the Brockport Golden Eagles earned this prestigious honor.

"These student-athletes have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence both on the mat and in the classroom," said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer. "We commend their dedication and the example they set for the sport."

Brockport's Simon Lingle (Physical Education), Trevor Middendorf (Childhood Inclusive Education), and Tyler Rossini (History & Social Studies Adolescence Education) were each selected after excelling both competitively and academically during the 2025–26 season.

Lingle delivered an impressive campaign, helping lead the Golden Eagles to a first-place finish at the SUNYAC Championships, where he placed second in the 197-pound weight class. He also contributed at NCAA Regionals, earning an eighth-place finish and scoring six team points.

Middendorf put together a historic freshman season, becoming one of two Golden Eagles to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships. He secured his national berth with a second-place finish at NCAA Regionals at 125 pounds, recording three wins and 17.5 team points. His season highlights also include a SUNYAC Championship title and a No. 2 ranking at 125 pounds in Region 2.

Rossini was a consistent force for Brockport at 157 pounds throughout the season. He captured a SUNYAC Championship title and contributed a key victory during the team's Senior Night win over Cortland. At NCAA Regionals, Rossini added three wins and a sixth-place finish to round out his strong season.

The trio's recognition highlights Brockport's continued success in developing student-athletes who excel at the highest level both academically and athletically.
