Brockport, NY- The Brockport women's basketball team will host a pair of Empire 8 matchups beginning on Friday, January 24^th, at 5:30 p.m. against Houghton. The Golden Eagles will take on Alfred in the Morgan's Message Game for Mental Health Awareness on Saturday, January 25^th at 2 p.m.
 
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles downed the Keuka Wolves, 80-58, on Saturday, January 18^th. With the win, Brockport moved to 13-2 on the season, now serving as the best start in program history.
 
Claire Turner stood out for the Golden Eagles with a perfect shooting performance, making all six of her field goal attempts to score 12 points and excelling defensively with six steals.
 
Shannon Blankenship made an impact with nine points and led the team with three assists while recording three steals.
 
Mandy Brink contributed offensively and defensively, scoring seven points and securing two steals.
 
Kaileigh Hunt added nine points and was efficient from the field, hitting three out of five shots and adding a block.
 
E8 Dominance: Amid a seven-game winning streak, the Golden Eagles have run through Empire 8 opposition, posting a 6-0 record. Across their six E8 wins, Brockport has averaged a +27.3 scoring margin, with the largest deferential coming in a 54-point win over SUNY Poly.
 
National Rankings: Jumping out to a program-best 13-2 start, Brockport ranks among the nation's best in several statistical categories.

 Scouting Houghton: The Highlanders have jumped out to a 13-2 start, most recently defeating SUNY Poly to improve to 4-2 in conference play. Brockport and Houghton have not met since 2018, when Brockport secured a 65-57 win at home.
 
Scouting Alfred; The Saxons sit at 10-5 overall, currently riding a four-game Empire 8 winning streak after a 0-2 start to conference play. Back in 2019, the Golden Eagles earned a 68-47 win at home in the last head-to-head matchup.
