Box Score Brockport, NY- The Brockport women's basketball team defeated Alfred, 83-59, on Saturday at the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gym in Brockport, NY. The Golden Eagles improved to 15-2 on the season with an undefeated 8-0 mark in Empire 8 play.

Stephanie Jean-Baptiste provided solid scoring with 14 points, making 7 of 11 field goal attempts, and contributed defensively with two steals.

Peyton Maneri was the top scorer for the Golden Eagles, scoring 15 points on 6 of 13 shooting and adding a 3-pointer.

Kaileigh Hunt was a key defensive threat, recording three steals while scoring 14 points from 4 baskets and 5 free throws.

Shannon Blankenship provided defensive strength with a two-steal performance, adding six points.

In the first quarter, the Golden Eagles established an early lead with a strong performance, particularly from
Kaileigh Hunt and
Jackie Kozakiewicz. Hunt tied the game at 2-2 with two free throws at 8:19 and later added a jumper to extend the lead to 20-8.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste added a layup in the final minute, helping Brockport finish the quarter with a 22-12 advantage over Alfred.

During the second quarter, Brockport outscored Alfred 23-8, highlighted by a strong team defensive effort with six steals in the quarter.

Kaileigh Hunt added a 3-pointer at 7:20 and finished the quarter with a defensive rebound and a layup, solidifying the team's strong performance in the paint.

In the third quarter, Brockport ran away with the contest, outscoring Alfred 23-15.
Peyton Maneri opened the scoring with a 3-pointer, adding to a team total of three successful 3-pointers in the quarter. The excellent Brockport defense was highlighted by five steals and holding Alfred to just three baskets in the quarter.

In the fourth quarter,
Mandy Brink made a significant impact late in the game by scoring a jumper with an assist from
Claire Turner, followed by a successful free throw to maintain the lead.
Madeline Hoak and
Madison Misser each added layups in the fourth. Despite Alfred's late scoring efforts, the Golding Eagles secured the victory with a final score of 83-59.

Jackie Kozakiewicz (12 points, five rebounds) and
Mandy Brink (9 points, five rebounds) each were perfect from three-point range, each going 2 for 2.
