Last Time Out – Last week, the Green and Gold went 2-0 following a pair of tough matchups to keep the undefeated streak alive.
On Wednesday, October 8
th, Brockport showed out at home with a 1-0 blank against the Nazareth Golden Flyers. Within just 10 minutes into the first half,
Jordan Chizuk opened the scoring book with an impressive header from a corner kick taken by
Caitlin Nelson.
Throughout the first and second half, the Golden Flyers made a statement with 11 shots (4 SOG) compared to the Golden Eagles' five (4 SOG). Nazareth was no match for the Brockport defensive line and the goalkeepers, with both
Emily McCane and
Madeline McCrosson each making two saves to hold on to the 1-0 lead to finish out the tough contest.
On Saturday, the team made the trip out to St. John Fisher and yet again walked away with the 1-0 win. The Cardinals stayed dominant in the first half, taking eight shots over Brockport's four, but the defense and goalkeeper
Emily McCane, who made four saves, kept the game scoreless.
Athlete of the week,
McKenna Slate, would waste no time in the second half sneaking the ball past the Cardinals' goalkeeper to help Brockport take the lead. The battle continued as St. John Fisher took six more shots, with one making it to goalkeeper
Madeline McCrosson, who made the save for the team and took the career win.
