BROCKPORT, N.Y- The Brockport Men's Soccer team defended home turf with a 2-0 victory over Alfred on Wednesday, October 15th. The win extended Brockport's winning streak to five straight games, improving to 7-4-2 and 6-1-1 in conference play.
The first half would see the Golden Eagles control the pace and possession, outshooting the Saxons 6-4 in the opening half.
Just over 21 minutes into the contest,
Ryan Mathis would connect on a free kick for his team leading fifth goal of the season. Strong team defense and two saves from
AJ Nelson would give Brockport a 1-0 lead entering halftime.
Brockport would waste no time doubling its lead, with
Jaidyn Caccomo setting up
Brady Reinagel for his fourth goal of the season.
Up 2-0 in the second half, the Saxons would threaten throughout, creating multiple scoring opportunities. Brockport goalie
AJ Nelson was up to the challenge, making three second-half saves to preserve the 2-0 shutout win for the Green and Gold.

Brady Reinagel would lead the Golden Eagles with two shots each, each recording a shot on goal.
AJ Nelson (W, 6-0-1) continued his excellent season, making a career-high five saves for his fourth clean sheet of the season.
Despite being outshot 10-8 on the day (5-3 SOG), Brockport made the most of its opportunities to secure the conference victory.
