Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's volleyball team swept Geneseo, 3-0, on Dig Pink Night for Breast Cancer Awareness. With a fourth straight win, Brockport improves to 11-7 overall and 4-1 in the Empire 8.
 
In the first set, the visiting Knights were able to surge forward for a 17-11 lead before the Golden Eagles mounted a comeback. A 7-0 run for Brockport led to a comeback win in the first set, 27-25.
 
Like the first set, Brockport trailed big in the second, 18-10, before a big rally to catch up. This time it was a 12-1 run for the Green and Gold to come from behind for a 25-21 score in the second set.
 
The third set was tight from start to finish, as both E8 foes traded points back and forth. The two teams saw the scored tied up 18 different times in the set before Brockport edged out a slight lead late. The Golden Eagles completed the sweep, 3-0, after taking the third set 25-23.
 
After being named E8 Co-Rookie of the Week on Monday, Madisen Jones stayed hot with a strong showing against Geneseo. She led Brockport with 15 kills (.364 pct), while adding six digs and an ace.
 
Luba Butcher had 12 kills and 11 digs, nearly matching Alexis Sison's line of 11 kills and 12 digs. Gianna Felipe led the squad with 16 digs from her libero spot.
 
Setter, Kaitlyn Jewett finished with a full line of 31 assists, three aces, three total blocks (1 solo, 2 assisted), and seven digs. Alenna Williamson totaled six kills and five total blocks (1 solo, 4 assisted).
 
The Golden Eagles are now set to hit the road for matchups against Utica and SUNY Poly this weekend.
