BROCKPORT, NY- The Brockport Men's Soccer team will host Utica for Youth Soccer Day on Saturday, October 25th at 12 pm.
Youth Soccer Day: The Golden Eagles will welcome the RNY Football Club 2015 Boys Pre-MLS to Brockport, with the team joining the Green and Gold for starting introductions. The RNY Football Club aspires to be the best, most comprehensive youth sport club in Western New York. Their continuous goal is to provide members the opportunity to develop by creating an environment that focuses on personal and athletic growth within a team setting. The team will take the field at halftime to compete in an inter-squad mini game!
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles fought Elmira to a 0-0 draw on the road on Saturday, October 18th. Brockport moved to 7-4-3 overall and 6-1-2 in Empire 8 contests.
AJ Nelson (T, 6-0-2) earned his third consecutive shutout, making a save across 90 minutes of play. Nelson has recorded five shutouts on the season.
Brady Reinagel led Brockport with five shots, with two shots on goal.
With the draw, Brockport has not lost a contest in over a month, posting a 5-0-2 record since September 16th.
Postseason Outlook: The Golden Eagles currently hold second place in the Empire 8 conference, trailing top-seeded SUNY Geneseo by five points. Brockport can clinch the #2 seed in the Empire 8 postseason tournament with wins over Utica and Geneseo to close out the regular season. The Green and Gold would secure the Empire 8 Regular Season Championship with two wins to close out the season, and a Geneseo loss/tie this Saturday.
Scouting Utica: The Pioneers hold a 7-4-4 overall record with a strong 4-1-1 mark in conference play, currently sitting in fifth place in the Empire 8. The 2024 season marked the first meeting between Brockport and Utica, seeing the two teams fight to a 1-1 draw.
