BROCKPORT, NY - The #2-seeded Brockport Men's Soccer team will host #7-seeded Russell Sage in the opening round of the Empire 8 Tournament on Saturday, November 1st at 1 PM.
Regular Season: The Golden Eagles embarked on a terrific turnaround, finishing 9-4-3 overall and 8-1-2 in conference play after a 1-4-1 start to the season. Since September 20th, Brockport has posted an 8-0-2 record, moving all the way up to second place in the Empire 8.
Ryan Mathis (12P) and
Brady Reinagel (10P) each led Brockport with five goals each, with
Jadin Lyle (1426),
Khadim Amar (1418), and
Trevor Lagarde (1374) leading the team in minutes played.
Heating Up: After being held scoreless across the first six games of the season,
Max Voyer has been excellent offensively for the Green and Gold. Posting back-to-back games with a goal, Voyer has posted a point or better in four of his last five outings. Across his last eight games, Voyer has scored four goals with two assists for 10 points.
Postseason Outlook: The Green and Gold have secured home-field advantage up to the Empire 8 Championship and will face off with the second-lowest remaining seed with a victory over Russell Sage.
Scouting Russell Sage: The Gators finished the regular season 10-6-2 overall and 4-5-2 in conference play, finishing sixth in the Empire 8. Russell Sage handed Brockport their only loss in conference play, winning 2-1 at home back on September 13th.
