Brockport, NY – The No.1 Brockport women's soccer team is set to host No.8 Alfred University in the first round of the Empire 8 Championship on Saturday, November 1
st, starting at 4pm.
The Golden Eagles finished out the regular season with a 12-1-4 overall record and 10-0-1 in the E8 conference.
This is the second time in Brockport program history the team has gone undefeated in the conference, the first since the 2006 season.
Team Leaders –
Amelia Breton has had a stellar season with the Green and Gold, leading in goals (7), and points (17), and is tied for second in assists (3).
Megan Gerber has also shown out throughout the season with five goals, two assists, and 12 points, and
Lyndsey Miller followed closely behind with four goals and eight points. Leading the pack in minutes on the field is
Lyndsey Miller (1391),
Lena Turaj (1308), and
Ella Camalleri (1224).
The Brockport goalkeepers have done an excellent job in net defending for the Green and Gold only allowing one goal in conference play.
Madeline McCrosson takes second in minutes (559:33), leads in saves (24), and has a personal record of 3-0-0.
Emily McCane has also fought hard this season, being in net for a total of 587:49 minutes, has made 19 saves, and has a record of 7-0-3.
Brockport is currently ranked 58
th in the country and first in the Empire 8 conference. In the conference, the team is fourth in assists per game (1.44), first in goals-against average (.313), fourth in points per game (5.19), first in save percentage (.914), fourth in shots on goal per game (8.31), and first for shutout percentage (.813).
A Look at Alfred – The Alfred University Saxons finished out the season with a 7-9-2 overall record and 3-6-2 in the conference. Brockport took the 2-1 win against the Saxons on the road back on October 15
th.
Up Next – With a win on Saturday, Brockport would have hosting rights for the Semi-Final round on Wednesday, November 5
th. The Golden Eagles would host the lowest remaining seed.
