Brockport, NY – The women's soccer team is set for another postseason matchup as they host No. 4 Hartwick for the Semi-Final round of the Empire 8 Tournament on Wednesday, November 5
th, starting at 4 pm.

E8 AOTW – On Monday,
Amelia Breton was announced the Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week after contributing strongly to Brockport's wins against Geneseo and Alfred University.
Breton started the week by putting up one goal and three shots on goal in Brockport's last regular-season matchup against Geneseo, helping the squad clinch the No. 1 seed. On Saturday, Breton had a total of two goals, eight shots with six on goal in just 46 minutes on the turf.
Breton currently leads the team in goals with nine, points with 21, shots with 50, and shots on goal with 32. She is also tied for second in assists with three.
Quarterfinals Recap – Over the weekend, the Golden Eagles hosted No. 8 Alfred University for the first round of the tournament, where they walked away with the 3-1 win to move on to the Semifinals.
Alfred wasted no time after the clock started to push past the Brockport defensive line to put the ball in the net at just 2:45, scored by the Saxons' Sidney Khuns.
Amelia Breton found the open opportunity shortly after and scored with the assist from
Diane Lange to tie up the competition. Breton kept up the momentum, putting Brockport on top with the 2-1 lead only 14 minutes later, assisted by
Lyndsey Miller.
The Green and Gold went into the second half with a 2-1 lead and kept the ball in their control to set the tone for the remainder of the matchup. Just before the end of the game,
Lavanya Upadhyay buried the ball in the back of the net for her first goal of the season, adding another to Brockport's total, putting them up 3-1.
The Golden Eagles had a day offensively with a total of 19 shots (11 SOG) to put the pressure on Alfred, compared to their two (one SOG). Brockport also had two corner kick opportunities over the Saxons' one.
Scouting Hartwick – The Hawks finished out the regular season 9-3-6 overall and 5-2-4 in the E8 Conference. Back on September 27
th, the Golden Eagles brought home the 3-0 shutout win against Hartwick. On Saturday, the No. 4-ranked team hosted No. 5 Utica and came out with a 3-1 win over the Pioneers, advancing to the Semifinals.
Up Next – With a win on Wednesday, the Golden Eagles would move on to the final round of the tournament on Saturday, November 8
th, and would face the winner of the St. John Fisher and Nazareth matchup.
