The Golden Eagles rolled to a 2-0 weekend at home, picking up wins over William Smith (86-66) and Ithaca College (80-75) last weekend.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste was named to the All-Tournament team, averaging 23 points, 9.5 rebounds, and three steals in an excellent weekend of play.
After suffering back-to-back road losses at #14 Trinity (76-63) and Hamilton (88-64), the Golden Eagles would end the skid with an 86-66 win over William Smith on Friday. Brockport would ride the defense, forcing 28 turnovers and holding the Herons to 27.8% shooting from the floor (20-72). Four Golden Eagles finished in double figures, seeing Jean-Baptiste (21 PTS, 10 REB),
Brianna Carey (19 PTS, 7 STL),
Mandy Brink (13 PTS, 3 STL), and
Peyton Maneri (10 PTS, 9 AST) providing effective efforts.
On Saturday, the Green and Gold secured a key regional win, downing Ithaca on the back of SJB's tournament-high 25-point performance. She led the squad with four steals and finished tied with Clare Turner for a team-high nine rebounds.
Brianna Carey capped off a strong weekend with a 13-point, three-steal performance. Carey has shone across her first seven games with Brockport, averaging 10 points and a conference seventh-best 2.5 steals per game.
Defense to Offense: The Golden Eagles have provided disruptive defense to begin the season, ranking among the top of the Empire 8 in defense. Brockport ranks second in the E8 in turnovers forced per game (23.4) and turnover margin (4.60).

Back to Back: For the second consecutive week,
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste was named the Empire 8 Women's Basketball Co-Athlete of the Week. The Jersey City, NJ native has been an all-around threat for Brockport, ranking second in the E8 in scoring (18.6 PPG), steals per game (3.2), and fourth in offensive rebounds per game (3.8).
Scouting RIT: The Tigers currently hold a 3-2 record, coming off a heartbreaking 64-63 loss at #22 Geneseo on Saturday. The Golden Eagles will look to build off last season's 79-68 win in Rochester against the Tigers.
