Brockport, NY- The Brockport women's basketball team celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day with a 71-58 win over Elmira on Saturday, February 1
st. The victory marked a program record 12 straight win for Brockport, improving to 18-2 overall and 11-0 in E8 play. With the victory, the Golden Eagles have officially clinched a postseason berth for the Empire 8 Tournament in their first year with the conference.

Stephanie Jean-Baptiste led the squad with 16 points, shooting 7-for-16 from the field and snatching two steals.

Peyton Maneri was efficient with 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting, adding four steals and four assists.
Â
Kaileigh Hunt added 13 points, making 5 of 13 shots and securing four steals, while also grabbing five rebounds.

Cam Tooley was a standout at the free-throw line, converting 10 of 11 attempts, and led the team with eight rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.

Harmony Philo contributed defensively with four steals in her strong performance.

The Golden Eagles opened the first quarter by capitalizing on turnovers, forcing 11 turnovers with six steals.
Kaileigh Hunt was pivotal in the early scoring, adding a layup at 8:30 and converting free throws at 2:00 to extend the lead.
Peyton Maneri converted multiple layups, including a fast-break layup at 0:30, helping Brockport end the quarter with a 21-11 lead.

Neither team could get going in the second quarter, with each team scoring 10 points in the period. Brockport would enter the half with a 31-21 lead.

In the third quarter, Brockport extended their lead over The Pioneers by scoring 24 points to Utica's 19.
Shannon Blankenship contributed significantly on defense with a block and successful free throws around 9:00. The Golden Eagles capitalized on the visitors' turnovers with steals from
Harmony Philo,
Kaileigh Hunt, and
Anna Lee, maintaining defensive pressure throughout the quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Brockport maintained a strong defensive presence, highlighted by
Cam Tooley's block and steal early in the quarter. Despite The Pioneers' attempt to close the gap with successful 3-pointers, Brockport responded effectively with crucial free throws from
Cam Tooley and
Peyton Maneri, increasing the lead.
