Swimming and Diving Prepares for E8 Championships

Brockport, NY- The Brockport men's and women's swimming & diving teams will look ahead to Empire 8 championships from Webster, NY, beginning on Wednesday, February 19th, at 10 a.m. Empire 8 Championships will span from Wednesday, February 19th, to Saturday, February 22nd.
 
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles celebrated Senior Day & Chuck-A-Duck with a sweep against Fredonia on Saturday, February 1st. The men's team rolled to a 166.5-34.5 win, with the women's team defeating the Blue Devils 182-37. The women's team moved to 7-4 overall, with the men's team improving to 5-6 on the year.
 
The Golden Eagles would take the top 3 spots in the 400y Medley Relay, with Miya Vitale, Addy Martino, Sarah Kilburn, and Elizabeth Sagan taking the win with a quick 4:00.93 finish. The group would set the new pool record in the James B. Fulton Natatorium, and it ranks third in program history.
 
The men's 400y Medley Relay of Matt Cole, Sean Feeney, Erik Parkes, and Joe Keeney took first place, finishing in 3:50.75. Cole would add a win in the men's 200-yard backstroke (2:11.69).
 
Brockport would sweep the women's 200y freestyle, headlined by Maddie Erhardt taking the win with her 2:10.50 finals time.
 
Erik Parkes would follow up with a win in the men's 200y freestyle, finishing up in 1:51.16.
 
Sarah Kilburn (25.71) and Jack Olsian (23.08) each earned wins in the 50y freestyle.
 
Freshman Varshana Ramgulam picked up the win in the women's 400-yard freestyle, posting a 5:07.09 time. Ramgulam would add a win in the women's 200y butterfly (2:32.04).   
 
Luca Olivieri cruised to a win in the men's 400y IM, winning by over 24 seconds (4:24.02).
 
Emma Conner (1mtr, 3mtr) and Ren Watson (1mtr, 3mtr) dominated the diving boards for Brockport, taking first in their respective events.
 
Joe Keeney added to the gold with a win in the men's 200y butterfly, posting a 2:28.28 mark.
 
Elizabeth Sagan (55.73) and Carter Lundin (51.56) each brought home wins in the 100-yard freestyle.
 
2023-24 Flashback: In last year's conference championships as members of the SUNYAC, the Brockport women's team rolled to an impressive third-place finish, posting the most points in program history (565.5). The men's team finished 6th overall with 232 total points.
 
The Golden Eagles will look to make an impact in their first season as members of the Empire 8 conference.
