Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Hold 3rd Place Following Day Two of E8 Championships

Brockport, NY- The Brockport men's and women's swimming & diving teams wrapped up day two of Empire 8 Championships from the Webster Aquatics Center on Thursday, February 21st. Both the men (210 points) and women's team (261 points) sit in third place following day two.
 
The Golden Eagles earned medals in three events on the day and had 10 podium finishes to complete day two of the conference championship meet.

Elizabeth Sagan, Maddie Erhardt, Corinne Wilson, and Sarah Kilburn combined for an excellent silver medal performance in the women's 200-yard freestyle relay, finishing in 1:38.07 for 34 points.
 
The men's team followed up with a bronze medal performance in the 200-yard freestyle relay, with Garrett Nanna, Carter Lundin, Luca Olivieri, and Erik Parkes combining for a strong 1:27.39 finish.
 
Erik Parkes would earn a bronze medal in the men's 100-yard butterfly, finishing a close third with a 50.71 finals time to set a new school record. Garrett Nanna (54.66, 8th) and Joe Keeney (53.75, 9th) added strong performances as well.
 
In the women's 400-yard IM, Varshana Ramgulam snagged 15 points for Brockport with a 5th place finish, finishing at 4:52.16.
 
Elizabeth Sagan would finish fourth in the women's 200-yard freestyle, securing 15 points for the women's team with her 1:57.39 finish.
 
Luca Olivieri earned a top-5 finish of his own in the men's 400-yard IM, finishing in 4:18.06 for 14 points and breaking the school record for the event. Mike Laviani would add 12 points for the men's team, finishing 7th in the 400-yard IM (4:31.83).
 
Jace Fredericksen snuck in the top 10 in the men's 200-yard freestyle, finishing 10th with his 1:46.85 finals time.
 
Sarah Kilburn provided a strong performance in the women's 100-yard butterfly, finishing 6th in 59.29 for 13 points. Madeline Erhardt added a top-10 finish as well, finishing ninth (1:00.59) for nine team points.
 
Emma Conner provided a strong outing in the women's 1mtr dive, taking 5th and 14 points with her 379.55 score.
 
Up Next: The Golden Eagles will return to the pool on Friday, February 21st, at 10:00 a.m. for day three of Empire 8 Championships.
