Brockport, NY- The Brockport ice hockey team dropped Saturday night's matchup with Geneseo, 5-2 on Saturday, February 8th. The Golden Eagles fell to 4-15-2 and 2-14 in UCHC play following the loss.
The Knights jumped ahead early and often, scoring three goals in 2:16 in the opening period to go up 3-0.
Down 3-0 in the second period,
Ben Saurbaugh would stop the bleeding, burying
Joseph Nikac's feed to cut the lead to 3-1. Exactly 8 minutes later, Robert Gatewood would connect for his hat trick goal to enter the third up 4-1.
Despite a late goal from
Mitchell Haight, the Golden Eagles would be unable to find a rhythm in the final frame, with Geneseo adding another tally to secure the 5-2 win.
David Filak left it all on the ice, making 44 saves a strong effort.
