Brockport, NY – After a tremendous season,
Jonathan Zavala and
Gabriel Giannini are set to head to Nazareth University to compete in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Zavala is set to compete in the preliminary round of the men's mile on Friday, March 14
th at 2:35pm and Giannini will compete in the long jump set to take off at 3:30pm.

Jonathan Zavala: In his last year, Zavala had an impressive number of performances as one of Brockport's top distance runners. Zavala took two school records this season, including the 800m, breaking his previous 800m record with a time of 1:53.77, and the 3000m with a time of 8:25.12. In the mile, he is currently 12
th in all of DIII with a time of 4:10.28 which was his national qualifying time made at the Empire 8 Championships back on February 28
th where he also earned track athlete of the meet honor. This is also Zavala's second time at Indoor Nationals as he also competed in the mile last season where he came in third in the finals while breaking the school record with a time of 4:06.09.
Gabriel Giannini: As a field athlete for the Golden Eagles, Giannini brought the heat this season with a multitude of first place performances in the men's heptathlon and the long jump. In the heptathlon, Giannini finished in second all-time and first in the meet with 4753 points at the Brockport Multi back in February. Along with the heptathlon, Giannini has been one of Brockport's top long jumpers with a national qualifying jump of 7.23m which was achieved at the Brockport Friday Night Rust Buster back in January also good for a third all-time finish and 16
th in all of DIII. This will be Giannini's first time competing in nationals.
