Brockport, NY- The Brockport baseball opened their Florida trip with an 8-1 win over Immaculata on Friday, March 14
th. The Golden Eagles improved to 8-0 following the win.

Zach Eldred got the party started in the third inning, launching a no-doubter into right field for a two-run blast to put Brockport ahead 2-0.

Starting pitching would dominate until the top of the seventh when Brockport would expand its lead. The Golden Eagles would smack back-to-back homers, first with
Kyle Blake roping a two-run blast before
Matthew Coon's solo home run put Brockport up 6-0.

Following an Immaculata run in the bottom of the eighth, Brockport would add some insurance in the top of the ninth.
Victor Alongi would score
Jason Story on a sacrifice fly, and
Timothy Venditti would beat out an infield single to extend the lead to 8-1.

Troy Leibert would shut the door for Brockport, pitching a hitless ninth inning with a punchout.

Anthony Lapine (W, 3-0) continued his excellent start, tossing 6.2 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and just two hits allowed. In 15.2 innings of work, Lapine has allowed just six hits with 16 strikeouts and zero runs allowed.

Kyle Blake had a day from the DH spot, reaching base safely four times (3-4, BB) with two extra-base hits (2B, HR) and three RBIs.

Matthew Coon (1-3, BB) and
Zach Eldred (1-4, BB, 2R) both added home runs to power the Brockport offense. Â
