Brockport, NY- The Brockport baseball team split Saturday's doubleheader with Clarkson, falling 8-6 in game one before defeating the Golden Knights 5-3 in game two. The Golden Eagles moved to 9-1 following the doubleheader.

Game One: Clarkson 8 – Brockport 6

Both teams would trade runs in the first two innings, highlighted by
Zach Eldred's three-run homer in the second to put Brockport ahead 5-3.

The Golden Knights would control the remainder of the contest, outscoring 5-1 for the remainder of the contest (7 innings) to pick up the 8-6 win.

Zach Eldred stayed red-hot at the plate, going 2-3 (HR) with three RBIs and a run scored.
Â
Frank Vanzillotta was excellent from the leadoff spot, going 2-3 (BB) with three runs scored in a strong performance.

Game Two: Brockport 5 – Clarkson 3

Both teams would trade runs in the opening inning, with the Golden Eagles scoring the next four runs.
Matthew Coon would score
Zach Eldred with a sacrifice fly in the third inning to put Brockport up 2-1 before an Eldred double in the fourth would put Brockport up 3-1.

Nick Mahar and
Matt Mayer would team up in the fifth inning, each launching RBI doubles to extend the lead to 5-1.

Clarkson would threaten with a two-RBI single in the sixth inning to cut the lead to 5-3, but
Eric Servellon would shut the door in the seventh to give Brockport a 5-3 win.

Angelo Agro (W, 2-0) was excellent on the bump for Brockport, tossing 5.2 innings of one-run baseball (earned) with four strikeouts.

Zach Eldred (2-4, RBI),
Kyle Blake (2-4, R), and
Nick Mahar (2-4, RBI) all posted multi-hit efforts to pace the Brockport offense.
