The Engineers' bats would stay hot, adding two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to jump ahead 6-1.

Eldred would cut the RPI advantage to four with an RBI groundout in the fifth, scoring James Dixon.

Matt Mayer would provide a much-needed spark at the top of the sixth, belting a three-run homer to bring Brockport closer at 6-5. Mayer would finish the contest with a game-high four RBIs

In a big-time RBI spot in the seventh, Jason Story would rise to the occasion with an RBI single to tie the game at 6-6.

The comeback would come up short, with RPI taking advantage of the base paths to net their seventh and final run of the contest.

Mayer, Chris Martin, and Victor Alongi would post two hits each in a strong effort.

Tyler Pohlman was excellent in relief, tossing 1.1 scoreless frames with three punchouts.
