Women's Basketball Awaits #20 Elizabethtown in NCAA Championship First Round

Brockport, NY - The Brockport women's basketball team is set to take on #20 Elizabethtown in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Championships in Ashland, VA, on Friday, March 7th, at 4:45 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles fell in the Empire 8 Championship against Geneseo, 66-63, on Saturday, March 1st. The Golden Eagles earned an at-large bid for the NCAA Division III Championships, finishing 24-4 overall and 15-1 in conference play.
 
Kaileigh Hunt led the way with a dynamic performance, scoring 17 points with eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
 
Peyton Maneri dropped 15 points (6-9 FG) with two steals and two assists in a strong effort.
 
Mandy Brink was effective offensively, scoring 12 points in just 13 minutes of action.
 
Back in the Dance: The Golden Eagles return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2008-09 season, posting the team's most single-season wins (24) since the 2007-08 season (25).
 
Staying Hot: Averaging 14.6 PPG over the Empire 8 Tournament, Mandy Brink has put together a hot streak entering March. Brink has scored 11+ points in six of her last seven outings, averaging 12.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in her last seven games.
 
Kaileigh Hunt has caught fire herself, finding a rhythm in the E8 Tournament. A recipient of both Empire 8 Second Team and All-Tournament honors, Hunt averaged 15.3 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and 2.3 steals per game. Hunt has scored 8+ points in her last 18 games, with six double-doubles on the season.    
 
Scouting Elizabethtown: The Blue Jays received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, holding a 22-4 record with a 16-2 Landmark conference record. Elizabethtown holds a #20 ranking in the latest edition of the D3hoops.com poll and has held a top-25 ranking since December 3rd. The Blue Jays hold a signature win over then-ranked #2 Scranton to close out the regular season.
