Brockport to Host 2025 NCGA East Regional Championships on Saturday

Brockport, NY – On March 8th, Brockport is set to host the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) East Regional in the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium. The meet will begin at 1pm on Saturday, as the Golden Eagles pursue a fifth consecutive NCGA East Championship.
 
2025 NCGA East Regionals: This weekend Brockport, Ithaca, Rhode Island, Springfield, Cortland, Ursinus, and Utica all compete for the regional crown at The Vlog. Brockport has won four straight NCGA East Regional Championships and will be hosting this year's regional meet. Senior Night Celebration: Brockport finished out dual competition on Senior Night last weekend with a win over Cornell, 192.900-192.725. Senior Aladiana Tosado really celebrated the special night with a pair of first place finishes. She won the uneven bars with a 9.750 and was also the event winner on the floor with her 9.850. Kiara Hockman was also an event winner, posting a 9.825 to place first on the balance beam.
 
Starting the meet on the vault, Brockport posted its lowest event total of the day and improved each rotation. The squad scored a 47.650 in the first event.
 
The Golden Eagles were led by Kiara Hockman's 9.700, which was good for third overall in the event. They also received scores of 9.550 from Lienna Kay, 9.525 from Maren Eramo, 9.475 from Shannon Gibbs, and 9.400 from Gracie Weaver.
 
Moving to the uneven bars, Aladiana Tosado's 9.750 highlighted the squad's performance. Maren Eramo finished second overall in the event with a 9.700. Brockport got key scores of 9.625 from Charlotte Raymond, 9.600 by Lienna Kay, and 9.425 from Julia Klucinec.
 
The bars squad totaled a 48.100 on the day, helping close the gap on the scoreboard at the end of the second rotation.
 
The third rotation saw yet another improvement in scoring from the Green and Gold in the home gym. The balance beam team put up a 48.400, earning three of the top four scores for the event.
 
As the event winner, Kiara Hockman scored a 9.825 to lead Brockport's effort on the beam. Amelia York's routine provided a big score of 9.750, as she tied for second place. Alexis Schulman had a strong showing as well with her 9.700. A 9.600 from Cali Czarcinski and Maya Pecoraro's 9.525 rounded out the beam scoring.
 
Heading into the fourth rotation, Cornell held a 145.000-144.150 lead on the running tally. While Brockport's floor squad posted the team's best total of the day (48.750), Cornell's beam team opened the door with Cornell's worst total of the meet (47.725). After a great outing on the floor exercise, the Golden Eagles came from behind to pull out the win on Senior Night.
 
Aladiana Tosado was the event winner on the floor, hitting a 9.850 to pace the Green and Gold's comeback effort. Cali Czarcinski and Kiara Hockman both tied for third in the event with a 9.775. Jamarie Saravia came in clutch with a 9.750 on the floor and Claire Wood's 9.600 completed the scoring that provided Brockport with the dual victory.
 
Brockport's Regional Rankings: The popular gymnastics outlet roadtonationals.com currently has Brockport at the top of the regional rankings. The Golden Eagles rank first overall (192.8438 SAS), first on the floor (48.8500 SAS), first on the beam (48.5125 SAS), first on the bars (47.5875 SAS), and third on the vault (47.9688 SAS).
 
Individually, several Golden Eagles stand out amongst other gymnasts in the eastern region. Maren Eramo (9.7750 SAS) and Kiara Hockman (9.7625 SAS) are first and second respectively on the vault. Eramo is also third on the bars in the east (9.6875 SAS). Hockman is second on the beam (9.7625 SAS), while Lienna Kay is third in the event (9.7500 SAS). On the floor, Hockman (9.8813 SAS) is tops in the region and teammate Emma Brookins is second (9.8313 SAS).
 
Specialist of the Week: Following an amazing Senior Night performance, Aladiana Tosado was named the NCGA East Specialist Gymnast of the Week. Winning a pair of events, first she scored a 9.750 to earn first place on the uneven bars at the meet. Finally she completed the night with a 9.850 on the floor exercise, winning her second event of the meet.
 
Last Year at Regionals: Last year Brockport claimed its fourth straight NCGA East Regional Title with a first-place score of 192.100. It marked the sixth for the program in the last seven seasons, including three in a row with Head Coach Dr. René Lyst in her first three years.
 
With an individual score of 9.875 on the uneven Bars, Rachel Swick earned the regional title for the event and tied her own school record. Brockport's team score of 49.00 on the uneven bars set a new school-record.
 
Teammate Emma Grace Sargent took 4th in the uneven bars with a 9.800. Grace Sargent also took 4th on the vault (9.750).
 
Maren Eramo took 2nd on the vault with her 9.800 score, also finishing 7th on uneven bars with a 9.775 score. Eramo will enter nationals as the top ranked vaulter in Division III. 
 
Lienna Kay earned a 2nd-place finish on uneven bars with her 9.825 score, also adding an 8th-place finish on the vault, posting a score of 9.700.
 
Taylor Bushley finished 9th on uneven bars with a score of 9.725. 
 
Kirsten Paultre finished as the top Golden Eagle on the floor, taking 2nd with her 9.850 score. 
 
The Golden Eagles dominated the competition, leading all schools in vault score (48.375), bars score (49.000), and floor (48.90).

At 192.100 the Golden Eagles defeated Springfield (189.775), Ithaca (190.950), Rhode Island (191.575), Cortland (191.650), Utica (186.175), and Ursinus (190.275).
 
Nationals Ahead: The top three teams at regionals this weekend will earn their spot at nationals in a couple weeks. Qualifying teams will head out to St. Peter, Minnesota for the NCGA National Championships, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.
