Brockport, NY – On Saturday, March 22
nd, the SUNY Brockport gymnastics team will compete at the 2025 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championship. The national championship meet is scheduled for a 3pm start, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus out in St. Peter, Minnesota.
Another Regional Title: Back on March 8
th, Brockport hosted the 2025 NCGA East Regional Championship meet at the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium. Brockport welcomed Springfield, Ursinus, Cortland, Ithaca, Rhode Island, and Utica to The Vlog. Earning a final score of 192.525, the Golden Eagles won their fifth straight NCGA East Title and fourth straight for Head Coach Dr. Rene Lyst in her four seasons at the helm.
Full Regionals Recap: In the home gym, Brockport outlasted the field of seven teams in the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium. The squad earned a final score of 192.525 to clinch the regional crown over Cortland (192.050), Ithaca (191.675), Ursinus (190.925), Rhode Island (190.875), Utica (187.850), and Springfield (187.325).
To go along with the team trophy for the regional championship, Brockport also celebrated a pair of event winners and multiple Top 3 finishers.
Lienna Kay took the regional crown on the balance beam and claimed silver on the uneven bars.
Kiara Hockman celebrated the big day as the regional champion the vault.
Amelia York earned a second-place finish on the beam and
Maren Eramo took bronze on the vault for Brockport.
Adding to the list of honors for the Golden Eagles on the day, the NCGA East recognized Brockport's
Kathryn Stiner and
Gil Burgmaster as the Administrators of the Year.
Following the warmup period and the open ceremonies, the first rotation of the meet had Brockport on the bye. The squad would get active in the second rotation, hitting the balance beam first on the regional stage.
Lienna Kay's routine led the way for the Green and Gold, as she claimed first place in the event with a 9.875. Teammate
Amelia York was close behind, tying for second on the beam with her score of 9.825. Other contributors for the event were
Emma Brookins (9.750),
Alexis Schulman (9.650), and
Maya Pecoraro (9.550). The beam team shined when it mattered most, totaling a 48.650 on the day.
Another bye in the third rotation would bring the Golden Eagles over to the floor in the fourth rotation of the meet.
In the floor exercise, the group would go on to receive a total of 48.000 to push the running score up to 96.650 through two events.
Freshman
Emma Brookins posted a 9.800 to spearhead the Golden Eagle effort in their second event. Second for the team was another freshman in
Jamarie Saravia, as she earned a 9.750.
Cali Czarcinski and
Kiara Hockman both scored a 9.725 for the team on the floor. With a 9.000,
Aladiana Tosado rounded out Brockport's scoring for the event.
The fifth rotation put Brockport over on the vault for the team's third event of the NCGA East Regional. Impressing the vault, the Green and Gold received three of the Top 5 scores in the event for the day.
Kiara Hockman was crowned the vault regional champion with her 9.850.
Maren Eramo tied for third place on the vault with her 9.750.
Emma Langdon earned a spot on the podium with a 9.700, good for fifth in the event.
Shannon Gibbs added a 9.650 and
Lienna Kay posted a 9.575 to help the vault squad total 48.525.
With a running score of 145.175 through the first three events, the Golden Eagles had a bye in rotation six to prepare for the uneven bars in the seventh and final rotation. Although their total of 47.350 on the bars was the lowest event score of the day, Brockport got enough from the bars to earn the first-place total of 192.525.
Receiving a score of 9.750,
Lienna Kay claimed silver on the uneven bars to lead the way for Brockport.
Aladiana Tosado provided a key performance, earning a 9.575. The squad also saw 9.500s from both
Charlotte Raymond and
Emma Brookins.
Maren Eramo finalized the scoring on the bars with her 9.075.
Brockport vs Everybody: With a team season long average of 192.8438, the Golden Eagles head to the national stage ranked third in the nation. They rank first in the NCGA on the floor exercise, with a Team SAS of 48.8500. Brockport is also ranked second on the balance beam with a 48.5500. To go with those top two spots for those events, the squad is also fifth on both the uneven bars (47.6188 Team SAS) and vault (48.1813 Team SAS).
Top Tier Talent: The Golden Eagles have multiple All-American hopefuls going into the national championship competition on Saturday. On the vault,
Kiara Hockman ranks first in the nation (9.7938 SAS) and
Maren Eramo is right there at second (9.7750 SAS).
Lienna Kay heads to the national stage ranked third on the balance beam (9.8000 SAS). Hockman is also ranked first in the nation on the floor exercise (9.8813 SAS), while freshman
Emma Brookins is tied with Rhode Island's Olivia Keyes for second in the event (9.8313 SAS).
2024 National Performance: SUNY Brockport traveled to Ursinus College last year to compete at the 2024 NCGA Championships. The Golden Eagles finished in fourth place with a team score of 193.075.
With the top eight finishers in each event earning All-American status, Brockport had five gymnasts earn the honor on Saturday.

Emma Grace Sargent (Bars), and
Kirsten Paultre (Floor) all became All-Americans.
Brockport took fourth place at nationals behind UW-Lacrosse (3
rd – 193.175), UW-Whitewater (2
nd – 193.575), and UW-Oshkosh (1
st – 194.975).
The Golden Eagles posted a 48.675 on the floor for their best event of the meet. The floor squad was led by
Kirsten Paultre's 9.825 score (T-7
th).
Kiara Hockman added a 9.775 (T-15
th), while
Laken Sooy hit a 9.750 (T-20
th).
Brockport's second-best event of the weekend proved to be the vault, where the team scored a 48.450.
Maren Eramo's 9.825 was enough to be named the co-champion for the event. Hockman scored a 9.750 (T-5
th),
Emma Grace Sargent earned a 9.700 (T-9
th), and
Lienna Kay posted a 9.650 (T-19
th).
Brockport then scored a 48.000 as a team on the uneven parallel bars.
Taylor Bushey led the way with her 9.775 performance (5
th). Sargent came back to score again for the squad with her 9.725 (T-8
th).
Aladiana Tosado had a solid showing with her score of 9.650 (T-11
th).
On the balance beam, the Green and Gold put together a score of 47.950. Hockman scored once again for the team, thanks to her 9.750 (T-14
th).
Natalie Galioto also earned a Top-20 score with her 9.700 (T-19
th) on the beam.

The Final Destination: The Golden Eagles battled all season to earn a 10-3 record in dual competition ahead of their fifth straight NCGA East Championship. The squad has its sights set on bringing home a national championship for the first time since 2019, which would be the third in program history.
