Brockport, NY – The outdoor men's and women's track and field teams competed in day 2 of the Brockport Multi and the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic and showed out posting strong results.
Brockport Multi Day 2:
Men's Team:
Gabriel Giannini finished up the men's decathlon in first place with a high score of 6033 points taking second all time in Brockport.
Tyler Miller also made it on the top 10 board in sixth all time with a score of 5799 points taking second in the meet.
In the decathlon 110m hurdles, Giannini finished in first at 16.64 seconds and Miller took second at 17.57 seconds. In the discus, Miller took first at 37.08m, and Giannini finished up in third from a 25.13m throw. In the pole vault, Giannini cleared the pole at 4.65m good for first place and Miller took second at 4.45m. In the javelin, Miller had a first place finish at 48.25m and Giannini took second at 41.11m. Finishing in the 1500m race was Miller in first at 5:15.44 and Giannini in second at 5:29.77.
In the men's 3000m steeplechase,
Howie Vargas had a day finishing in first at 10:23.14 and
Connor Couperus followed shortly after in third at 10:32.07.
Nathan Roehrig took second in the men's 400m at a quick mark of 52.77 seconds.
In the 800m sprint,
Frank Calhoun had an impressive first place finish at a time of 2:00.05.
JJ Montemero also had a huge first place finish in the 5000m crossing the line at 16:07.87.
The men's 4x400 team consisting of
Cassidy Gilmore,
Tyler Grossman,
Frank Calhoun, and Matthew Quinn had a day clinching the third place spot at a time of 3:36.62.
In the long jump,
Dennis Bobbitt dominated in the event with a first place finish from a 6.98m jump.
Bobbitt also took second in the triple jump at 12.87m and
Quinn Grover finished just one place later in third at 12.54m.
Jake Galley,
Jack Valentine, and
Jack Galley took third, fourth, and fifth in the high jump all clearning the pole at 1.81m.
In the shotput,
Nick Wright had a strong throw of 14.08m good for first place.
Mitchell Ellsworth took second at 13.89m and
Allen Reome finished up in third at 13.73m.
In the hammer throw, Matt Muscolo took second on the day with a 47.67m throw. Muscolo also finished in third in the discuss at 38.93m.
Women's Team:
In the women's heptathlon, Katie Pavelchak finished up in third place with a total of 1357 points.
In the long jump, Pavelchak finished in third from a 3.77m jump. She also clinched third in the javelin from a 13.29m throw and third in the 800m race at 3:41.86.
Starting off strong in the 1500m race was Emily Leo taking first a time of 4:59.84.
In the 400m race, Sarina Johnson also had an impressive first place finish at 1:02.97. Johnson also clinched third in the 200m sprint at a quick time of 27.60 seconds.
Sasha Schramm had a fourth place finish in the long jump at 5.07m and went on to take first in the triple jump from a 10.74m jump.
Taking third in the high jump was Michaela Levesque clearing the pole at 1.59.
Rebecca Heuler had a day in the shotput taking first from an 11.80m throw. Trinity Dees finished shortly after in third from an 11.36m throw.
Heuler also took first in the javelin at 41.23m and second in the discuss at 38.96m.
Bucknell Day 2:
Men's Team:
Starting out the day in 14
th place was the 4x100 team consisting of Judson Delany,
Michael Durski,
Bryce Roberts, and
Derek Grimshaw finishing at 42.70 seconds also good for 10
th all time in Brockport.
Jeremy Chen had a quick time of 15.13 seconds in the 110m hurdles good for 18
th place.
In the 400m race,
Michael Durski finished in 26
th at 49.59 seconds.
Cole Ferris crossed the line at 50.35 seconds good for 49
th and
Aaron Ottenwalder took 91
st at 52.09 seconds.
In the 100m sprint,
Derek Grimshaw had an 18
th place finish from a 10.81 second mark and
Bryce Roberts took 82
nd at 11.31 seconds.
Ayden Grinion had a strong sixth place finish in the 400m hurdles at a time of 54.05 seconds and
Jeremy Chen finished shortly after in 13
th at 54.63 seconds good for fourth all time.
Timothy Smith also had a quick time of 55.39 seconds good for 20
th place.
Finishing in 37
th in the 200m race was
Derek Grimshaw also good for 10
th all time.
Michael Durski took 68
th at a time of 22.47 seconds and Judson Delany finished up in 92
nd at 22.81 seconds.
Women's Team:
Monica Cammartoa took 80
th in the 400m race at a mark of 1:01.47 and Courtney Bostic crossed the line just one second later at 1:02.17 good for 91
st.
Alexis Rodriguez had a day in the 400m hurdles finishing in 11
th place at 1:02.87 good for second all time. Lily Rexford also took 10
th all time with a time of 1:06.41 good for 35
th in the meet.
Marissa Wise finished out the meet strong in the 200m sprint at a time of 24.84 seconds good for an 11
th place spot.
Next Weekend – The Golden Eagles are set to head to the University of Rochester for the U of R Alumni Invitational on Saturday, April 19
th for a 10am start.
