Softball Swept by Nazareth Saturday on Senior Day

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport softball team got swept at home on Senior Day by Nazareth University in an E8 doubleheader. The Golden Flyers took the set with final scores of 17-3 and 10-2.

Paige Wentland led the Brockport bats in this one with a 2-for-3 showing with two RBIs. Olivia Simone also went 2-for-3, scoring one run.
 
Kellie Gentile was 1-for-3 with a run scored, while Reagan Myers went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Jackie DuTot connected for a double and was a hit by a pitch, giving her a 1-for-1 tally in game one with a run scored.
 
Fiona Gibiser (L, 2-2) got the start at pitcher, going 2.0 innings with three strikeouts and five runs allowed. Hadley Alguire pitched 1.1 innings with one strikeout and five earned runs. Colleen Davis finished out the final 1.2 innings with one strikeouts and five earned runs as well.
 
The visiting Golden Flyers got on the board big with a pair of home runs in the first inning. They would end up hitting four over the fence in game one, exploding for 17 runs in the 17-3 victory.
 
Brockport 2, Nazareth 10 – Game 2 Final
 
In game two, Aubrey Ennis finished 2-for-3 with a run scored to lead the Brockport offensive effort. Olivia Simone was 1-for-3 with an RBI, while Kellie Gentile was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
 
Grace Talbut added an RBI of her own, as she went 1-for-2 at the plate. Jackie DuTot also went 1-for-2 in the contest.
 
Laina Beer (L, 3-3) picked up the losing decision after allowing six earned runs across 10 hits in 4.0 innings of work. Colleen Davis allowed just one hit and one walk for no runs in the final 1.0 innings.
 
Nazareth would score a bunch early on once again, going up 5-0 through two innings. The Golden Flyers hit two more home runs in game two on the way to a 10-2 victory to complete the sweep.
 
Brockport moves to 10-18 overall and 2-12 in Empire 8 play following the weekend. The Golden Eagles will return home on Tuesday, April 22nd for another conference doubleheader. They host Geneseo for a 3pm start to the set.
