Brockport, NY—The Brockport men's lacrosse team defeated Keuka, 18-8, in regular season finale action on Saturday, April 26
th. Brockport finishes the regular season 8-8 overall and 5-4 in Empire 8 play.
Jack Acker (W, 8-7) set a new single-season saves record, collecting his 210
th save to surpass Cameron Kuzniar's record of 209. Acker would make 12 saves on the afternoon to earn the win.
The Golden Eagles would jump ahead 6-1 in the opening quarter, scoring the contest's first five goals.
Jack Rice opened the scoring for Brockport, netting two goals in the first six minutes, followed by goals from
Pierson Jacobs,
Hunter Riehlman,
Nate Askin, and
Daniel Wright.
Brockport would add six more goals in the second period, entering halftime up 12-3.
Carson Colucci would net a man-up goal, followed by
Jack Rice's hat-trick goal early in the second period.
Goals from
Marc Zappulla,
Mitchell Carlson, and two from
Pierson Jacobs would round out the scoring in the half for the Green and Gold.
The Wolves would take a slight advantage in the third period, outscoring Brockport 3-2.
Ryan Davis would net his first goal of the season in the third, followed by a man-up goal from
Marc Zappulla to keep Brockport ahead 14-6 entering the final frame.
Less than two minutes into the fourth,
Jack Rice would net his fourth goal of the game, putting Brockport up 15-6. Keuka would respond with back-to-back tallies before the Golden Eagles would score the final three goals of the contest.
Carson Colucci would connect for his 28
th goal of the season, before
Pierson Jacobs and
Sawyer Kramer would round out the scoring for Brockport. Kramer's goal in the fourth quarter marked his first as a Golden Eagle.
Jack Rice (4G, 3A) and
Pierson Jacobs (4G, 1A) would score four goals each for Brockport, combining for 12 points in an excellent effort.
Nicolas Ange led the way with nine ground balls, going 15-24 in the faceoff department.
