Brockport, NY – The men's and women's outdoor track teams opened their season in Geneseo for the Geneseo Early Season Invitational where they posted a series of impressive results.
Day 1:
In the men's hammer throw, Matt Muscolo took eighth place with a far throw of 48.01m.
Gabriel Giannini took a strong third place in the men's javelin throw at 49.10m also taking 10
th all time for Brockport.
Allen Reome finished just two places later in fifth from a 44.05m throw.
In the women's hammer throw, Rhian Crowley threw for 43.29m good for ninth place and Lainey Porter threw for 41.80m good for 11
th place.
Rebecca Heuler had a day in the women's javelin with a first place finish from a 40.64m throw.
Day 2:
Men's Team:
Jeremy Chen started day two strong taking second in the men's 110m hurdles and third all time at 14.83 seconds.
In the 1500m,
Patrick Klinger crossed the line at 4:05.32 good for a ninth place spot on the board.
In the 100m sprint,
Derek Grimshaw clinched a third place finish at a quick time of 10.80 seconds.
Also clinching a third place mark was
Michael Durski in the 400m race at a time of 49.62 seconds.
Jonathan Zavala took ninth in the men's 800m with a fast time of 1:56.40.
In the men's 400m hurdles,
Ayden Grinion dominated on the track taking first place at a AARTFC qualifying time of 55.49 seconds. Tim Smith also had an impressive performance of 55.58 seconds good for second place and an AARTFC qualifying mark.
Taking fifth in the men's 200m sprint was
Michael Durski with a finishing time of 21.96 seconds.
Finishing in seventh in the men's shot put was
Nick Wright with a far 13.87m throw and
Mitchell Ellsworth finished shortly after with a 13.01m throw.
Taking eighth in the discuss throw was
Duncan Harbin at 40.79m and finishing just two places later in 10
th was
Nick Wright at 39.64m.
In the triple jump,
Quinn Grover and
Cameron Rynders finished in fifth and sixth place with Grover jumping 12.23m and Rynders at 12.19m.
Cardin Chau had a day in the high jump clearing the pole at 1.94m good for a second place mark.
Finishing out the day with a fifth place finish in the pole vault was Gabe Giannini at 4.60m.
Daniel Reinhart finished up in eighth place from a 4.45m jump.
Women's Team:
Starting out the day taking ninth in the women's 10,000m race was Jennifer Reagan finishing at 42:19.79.
Ethne Degan finished in second in the women's 1500m crossing the line at 4:45.47 also good for a fourth all time spot.
In the women's 400m race, Marissa Wise had a strong third place finish at 59.13, breaking her own previous 400m school record. Courtney Bostic took 10
th from a 1:01.96 mark.
Finishing in seventh in the women's 5000m was Mia Vizcaino at an AARTFC qualifying time of 18:12.92.
Taking fifth in the 400m hurdles was Alexis Rodriguez at an AARTFC qualifying time of 1:06.82 also good for ninth all time. Lily Rexford finished shortly after in eighth making her mark of 1:07.74.
Rebecca Heuler finished ninth in the women's shotput from a 10.92m throw and Trinity Dees finished shortly after in 11
th place with a 10.67m throw.
Rebecca Heuler also had a day in the discuss taking third from a 36.84m throw. Savana Henry and Katrina Chandler finished in eighth and ninth with Henry making a 35.55m throw and Chandler with a 33.78m throw.
Sasha Schramm finished up the day in 10
th in the women's long jump from a far 4.99m leap.
In the women's triple jump, Sasha Schramm finished strong in fourth place after a 10.50m jump and Safia Sesay took seventh at 10.20m.
Michaela Levesque finished in a tie for sixth place in the women's high jump clearing the pole at 1.53m.
Ending the day strong with a ninth place spot in the pole vault was Isabel Swyers clearing the pole at 3.05m.
Next Weekend – The Golden Eagles prep for a busy weekend next weekend as they host the Brockport Multi Meet on Saturday, April 12
th, and also travel to Bucknell University for the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic on Friday, April 11
th and Saturday, April 12
