Golden Eagles Fall Short in E8 Semifinals at Geneseo

Geneseo, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team had its 2025 campaign come to a close on Tuesday with a loss to Geneseo in the E8 Semifinals. 13-9.
 
Hailey Lewkovich led the scoring effort with four goals in the contest for the Golden Eagles. Karaline McCarthy had 5-point outing on one goal and four assists. The squad also saw a pair of goals from both Tristan Davis and Alayna Foos.
 
At the start of the E8 Semifinal matchup, it was Geneseo with the early pressure. The Knights created a 3-0 lead in the first. However, Brockport would respond in a big way. The Green and Gold tied the score up at 3-3 with a trio of scores from Hailey Lewkovich.
 
Geneseo regained the momentum in the second quarter with four goals to surge ahead, 7-3. Lewkovich stopped the bleeding for Brockport with her fourth of the day, making it a 7-4 halftime tally.
 
While Geneseo scored the first goal of the second half, the Golden Eagles would go on a big run in the third quarter. Down 8-4, they scored three in a row to make it a 1-goal game at 8-7. Foos scored a pair of unassisted goals to provide the spark.
 
Brockport scored two more goals early in the fourth, but Geneseo kept the comeback effort at arm's length. The Knights scored twice in the final five minutes to put the game away at 13-9.
 
Arianna Reed came up with eight saves for the Golden Eagles in a full 60-minute effort in net.
 
Brockport has its postseason run ended, concluding the 2025 season. As the No. 3 seed for the E8 Tournament, the Golden Eagles earned a record of 9-9 overall and 7-2 in conference play.
