The SUNY Brockport football program is receiving votes in the 2025 D3football.com Preseason National Poll released Wednesday. The Golden Eagles received 15 votes and sit 11 spots outside of the nation's top 25 according to the highly popular division III football website.
The Golden Eagles have now made an appearance in postseason play in eight consecutive seasons and Brockport has a 71-21 overall record in that time frame. During this span, the Golden Eagles won three straight Empire 8 Conference titles and earned three automatic bids into the NCAA Division III Championships. Brockport advanced as far as the NCAA Division III Championship Semifinals in 2017 when the Golden Eagles posted a 13-1 overall record and won the E8 title.
Brockport wrapped up the 2024 season with a win over local rival University of Rochester at home in the 2024 ECAC Clayton Chapman Bowl Game. The Golden Eagles finished the year 8-3 overall and placed second in the Empire 8 with a 5-2 conference ledger.
The Brockport football program returns for training camp in mid-August in preparation for its week one opener as the Golden Eagles travel to Buffalo State for the I90 Bowl Game on Thursday, September 4
th at 7 p.m.
The D3football.com Top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly. Points are awarded on a 25-24-23-22-etc. basis.
