A Look Into the 2025 Women's Soccer Season

Brockport, NY – The Brockport women's soccer team is set to open the 2025 season on Friday, August 29th, in Saratoga Springs to take on Skidmore College at 3 pm. The Golden Eagles will then head Saturday, August 30th, to Oneonta to face the Red Dragons starting at 1 pm.

2024 Season Recap – The Green and Gold had a record-breaking 2024 season, finishing 15-2-2 overall and 10-1 in conference play. Through the first 11 games of the season, Brockport rolled to an undefeated 10-0-1 start and 6-0 record in Empire 8 contests. The team fought hard to earn the Empire 8 Conference regular season championship, gaining hosting rights for the E8 Championship. The squad shut out the Elmira Soaring Eagles 1-0 in the first round before falling to Nazareth in the Semi-finals in a PK Shootout.

Following postseason competition, the Golden Eagles earned an at-large bid into the NCAA DIII Women's Soccer Championships for just the second time since their first appearance in 2006. Their impressive season came to an end in the first round of the tournament after facing Wesleyan College.

Last season, the team finished with 10 all-conference selections to go with Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Coaching Staff of the Year Honors. Graduate student Jaylah Cossin made her mark in her final season, earning Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference. Lyndsey Miller also earned the Defensive Player of the Year award and First Team All-Conference honors. Mike Idland and assistant Sydnee Smith were recognized as the E8 Coaching Staff of the Year. The Golden Eagles' 14 shutout wins marked the most in a single season in program history.

Also earning First Team was Amelia Breton, scoring a team second-best eight goals. Sierra Edwards, Megan Gerber, Kellie Gentile, and Madeline McCrosson all landed on the All-Conference Second Team. Earning third team honors were McKenna Slate, Autumn Edwards, and Ella Camalleri. Brockport's 10 All-Conference selections and three All-Region selections (Jaylah Cossin, Lyndsey Miller, Amelia Breton) marked the most in a single season in program history.

Returners – The Green and Gold have a strong set of returners going into the 2025 season, including some breakout candidates from last season. Goalkeeper Madeline McCrosson is back between the pipes for the team after logging over 1200 minutes last year with 37 saves and an excellent record of 14-2-2. Lena Turaj, Ella Camalleri, and Diane Lange return to create a strong defensive group, with the trio all logging over 1000 minutes in 2024. Amelia Breton, Lyndsey Miller, and Megan Gerber are all back as the backbone of the midfield, and Lucy Crounse, McKenna Slate, and Caitlin Nelson return following strong offensive play last season.

New Faces – The program welcomes seven new additions, including freshmen Sofia Storrow, Alana Yahoudy, Brook D'Ovidio, Tamara Honcharuk, Elyssa Barnhart, Kaitlyn Spring, and goalkeeper Ada Canzoneri
