BROCKPORT, N.Y – The SUNY Brockport men's soccer team opened the 2025 season with a 1-0 victory over RIT on Friday, August 29
th. The Golden Eagles moved to 1-0 to begin the season following the home opener win.
The Tigers pressured Brockport early and often, outshooting the Golden Eagles 8-3 in the opening half. In his first career start, goalkeeper
Matthew Sandison was up to the challenge, making four saves in the first half to keep the contest tied at 0-0 entering the second half.

Peter Tinaj, who would bury the contest's lone tally, putting Brockport ahead 1-0.
RIT would maintain pressure, outshooting Brockport 7-1 in the second half to finish the contest with a 15-4 shots edge.
Despite only generating one shot on goal, the Golden Eagles made the most of their opportunity, escaping with a 1-0 victory.
Matthew Sandison (W, 1-0) was stellar between the pipes, making five saves to secure a shutout win in his Brockport debut.
