Men's Soccer Battles to a 2-2 Draw Against Rochester

BROCKPORT, N.Y - The Brockport men's soccer team earned a 2-2 draw against the University of Rochester on Wednesday, September 3rd. The Golden Eagles moved to 1-0-1 on the season following the draw with Rochester.

Ryan Mathis provided the offense for the Golden Eagles, scoring two goals to power the Brockport attack. Mathis led all players with five shots and four shots on goal.

The Golden Eagles would strike first at the 25:50 mark of the first half, with Trevor Lagarde finding Mathis to put Brockport ahead 1-0 early. The Yellowjackets would respond quickly, with Pasquale Carusone scoring for Rochester less than eight minutes later to tie the contest at 1-1 entering halftime. 

Rochester would hold a 7-4 shots edge in the opening half, with each goaltender making a save. 

Following a Rochester foul, Ryan Mathis would strike again, putting Brockport ahead 2-1 at the 68:05 mark with a penalty kick goal. 

With just over five minutes remaining, Will Fallona of Rochester would notch the tying goal at 84:56 of the contest to earn the draw for Rochester. The Yellowjackets would threaten throughout the second half, with Matthew Sandison making two key saves to secure the draw.

The Golden Eagles would hold a 5-3 edge in corner kick opportunities, with Rochester holding a slight 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.  

Jadin Lyle, Khadim Amar (1 shot), Parker Warren, and Trevor Lagarde (1A) played the entirety of the contest, providing strong individual efforts.
