Women's Soccer Looks to Extend Conference Win Streak

Brockport, NY – The women's soccer team is set for a pair of matchups this week, starting at home, hosting the Fredonia Blue Devils on Tuesday, September 23rd at 4pm. The squad will then head to Hartwick College on Saturday, September 27th for a 12pm start.

Last Week Recap – The Golden Eagles brought home a pair of shutout wins on the road last week, bringing them to 4-0-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

On Wednesday, the team secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against the Allegheny Gators. Karissa Champion started in net for the competition, leading a scoreless first half despite the Gators creating two scoring opportunities.

The second half was a continued battle with Champion making two more saves, tying her career high of four. Just minutes before the buzzer, Lynsdey Miller would find the back of the net from a pass by Caitlin Nelson, leading to the victory.

Cameryn Childs and Ada Canzoneri found their first minutes in goal this season. Canzoneri ended up with the win on the day, finishing out the contest scoreless with two saves.

On Saturday, the Green and Gold traveled to Keuka, where they blanked the Wolves 1-0. The first period of the matchup ended up scoreless, with Brockport maintaining control over the ball with 11 shots over Keuka's four.

Going into the second half, Brianna Marino wasted no time sneaking the ball past the goalkeeper from a deflection off a corner kick from Mackenzie Bieger. That half, Brockport added in another nine shots compared to the Wolves' three.

Emily McCane took first shift in between the pipes, making a total of two. The team made the switch to Madeline McCrosson for the second half, where she made one save.

Scouting Fredonia – The Blue Devils are currently 2-4-2 overall in the 2025 season and 1-1-2 in the SUNYAC Conference. Brockport brought home the 1-0 win in 2023 and tied 1-1 the year before. The team recently faced Keuka, tieing the Wolves 1-1, and also took the 1-0 win against Allegheny College.

Scouting Hartwick – The Hawks are 2-1-4 overall this season and sit at 0-2 in the Empire 8 Conference. Last season was the first matchup between Brockport and Hartwick and the Golden Eagles had a strong 4-0 win.

Next Week – On Wednesday, October 1st, Brockport will host Houghton University for a 4pm start and SUNY Poly on Saturday, October 4th starting at 1pm. On Saturday, the team will also be playing their Breast Cancer Awareness Game.
