Brockport, NY – The women's soccer team brought home a dominating 3-0 shutout from Hartwick College today. The squad is now 5-0-3 overall and remains undefeated at 3-0 in conference play.
The Golden Eagles started off strong, keeping the ball off their side with two shots at Hartwick before
Lyndsey Miller started the team off with a 1-0 lead early on at just 18 minutes in. The team kept the momentum throughout the first period until
Amelia Breton added another goal to the back of the net. Just before the halftime break,
Kaitlyn Spring scored her first goal of the season to bring the Green and Gold up to 3-0.
The second half remained quiet and scoreless, with the Hawks taking control. Hartwick outshot Brockport 8-2, but was no match for the defensive line. They also tied in corner kicks with four.
Lyndsey Miller and
Lucy Crounse led in shots, both with two and one on goal.
Amelia Breton and
Kaitlyn Spring each added one and one on goal, and
Megan Gerber and
Caitlin Nelson both had one shot.
In net for the Golden Eagles in the first period was
Emily McCane, making one save on the day. Taking second shift between the pipes was
Madeline McCrosson with a total of three saves.
