Men's Soccer Hits the Road for Conference Play

BROCKPORT, N.Y- The Brockport Men's Soccer team will head to Houghton on Wednesday, October 1st, at 7 pm before heading to Utica to take on SUNY Poly on Saturday, October 4th, at 1 pm.

Last Outing: Brockport and Hartwick fought to a 1-1 draw on homecoming weekend last Saturday. The Golden Eagles moved to 2-4-2 overall and 1-1-1 in Empire 8 play following the tie.

Khadim Amar provided the equalizer in the 85th minute, thanks in part to an excellent feed from Alex Rivera.

AJ Nelson picked up the start between the pipes for Brockport, making two saves and overcoming the early allowed goal.

Max Voyer led all players with four shots on goal, outshooting all Hartwick players combined.

Trending Up: Receiving more opportunities on offense, Khadim Amar has answered the call for the Green and Gold. Playing all but 10 minutes of the season, Amar has posted a point or better in his last three games. He has goals in two of his last three outings, tying Ryan Mathis for the team lead in goals (2), and points (5).

Between the Pipes: Seeing his first collegiate action, sophomore AJ Nelson has provided stability in net for Brockport. Starting the last two games for the Golden Eagles, Nelson has allowed just one goal across 180 minutes of game action, saving 75% of the shots he's faced.

Scouting Houghton: The Highlanders have played to a 3-4-1 record and are currently on a two-game winning streak. Houghton has scored 2-1 victories over Fredonia and Alfred over the past week. Brockport holds an 8-2 head-to-head record since 2014, with the Golden Eagles searching for its fifth straight win against Houghton.

Scouting SUNY Poly: The Wildcats sit at 2-6-1 on the season, currently in the midst of a three-game losing skid. Brockport defeated SUNY Poly 3-0 in their last head-to-head meeting, coming in the Empire 8 Tournament Quarterfinals.

Up Next: Brockport will head to Rochester to face off with Nazareth on Wednesday, October 8th, at 4 pm.
