BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport Women's Basketball team (6-6, 2-1 E8) will head to Keuka College (6-5, 1-2 E8) to take on the Wolves in Empire 8 action on Tuesday, January 13th at 3 PM.
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles came up short at home against Nazareth University, 75-65, on Saturday, January 11th. The defeat marked the squad's first conference loss, falling to 6-6 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste (2REB, 2AST) and
Mandy Brink (3 STL) led the Brockport scoring attack with 15 points each, leading the squad in minutes played.
Brianna Carey had a strong all-around day for Brockport, leading the Green and Gold with six rebounds and five steals while adding four points and three assists.
Peyton Maneri was active defensively, snatching a game-high five steals with seven points and five assists.
Stepping Up: In just her second season with the Green and Gold,
Claire Turner has developed into a top forward in the conference. Turner ranks among the best rebounders in the Empire 8, with her 107 total rebounds (6th), 36 offensive rebounds (7th), and 8.9 rebounds per game (7th) all ranking within the top-10 of the conference. The Cortland, NY native has also excelled as a shot blocker, leading the team and sitting tied for third in the E8 with 21 blocks.
Scouting Keuka: The Wolves have enjoyed a strong start to the season, holding a 6-5 record with a 1-2 mark in conference play. Keuka has already surpassed last years win total (5), posting the program's most single-season wins since the 2019-20 season. Securing a 64-62 win over Hartwick last Saturday, the Wolves picked up the program's first conference win since the 2022-23 season. Brockport holds a 4-1 record against Keuka since 2012, with the Golden Eagles winning the last four head to head matchups.
