On Monday, February 16th, the Empire 8 Conference announced that SUNY Brockport junior Jared Kulik has been named the Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.

Kulik earned the conference honor following a standout performance in the Golden Eagles' season opener against WestConn. The Amherst, NY native was a force in the crease, recording 15 saves and maintaining a .600 save percentage over 60 minutes of action.

Under relentless pressure from the WestConn offense, Kulik anchored a defensive unit that was outshot 48-24. Despite the heavy volume of shots, he kept the Golden Eagles within striking distance throughout the contest, recording at least three saves in every single quarter.

Kulik and the Golden Eagles return to action at SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, February 21st, at 1 p.m.
