BROCKPORT, NY – On Monday, the Empire 8 named Luca Friedman Wrestler of the Week after a dominant showing at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Invitational on Saturday.
Competing at 197 pounds, Friedman received a first-round bye before making an immediate impact in the quarterfinals. He set the tone with a lightning-fast pin just 0:27 into his match against Pierce Tran of Alfred State. Carrying that momentum into the semifinals, Friedman delivered another strong performance, securing a pin at 6:49 over Jonah Ginsberg of NYU. He capped off his commanding run in the championship bout with a 19-4 technical fall against Keeran Timerman of Alfred State to claim first place.
