BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport Women's Basketball (14-6, 10-1 E8) will head to Rochester for a weekend doubleheader, beginning with a Friday night matchup with conference leading Nazareth (16-4, 10-1 E8) on February, 6th. The Golden Eagles will then head to St. John Fisher (10-10, 7-4) on Saturday, February 7th at 2 PM.Â

Mandy Brink was the heartbeat of the Brockport offense, leading all scorers with 21 points, adding six rebounds, and five assists in an excellent showing for the Green and Gold.
Brianna Carey shone from beyond the arc, drilling a trio of three pointers (3-8), finishing with 17 points, two rebounds, and a steal in a strong effort.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste was efficient for the Golden Eagles, scoring 14 points (6-13) with four rebounds and two assists.  Â
Peyton Maneri rounded out the top scorers for Brockport, scoring 10 points as a dynamic playmaker. She led the squad with six assists, chipping in with three rebounds and a steal.
Claire Turner turned in an excellent performance, leading Brockport with 11 rebounds, five steals, and three blocks, adding four points in a gutsy winning effort.Â
Commanding the Paint: In the midst of a breakout sophomore season,
Claire Turner has elevated her play in the new year. Turner has snatched nine or more rebounds in seven of her last eight games, grabbing 10+ boards in seven outings on the season. The Cortland, NY native opened the new year with a career high 15 rebounds against Rochester, the first of five 10 rebound performances in the new year. Turner has been just effective defensively, blocking multiple shots in each of her last three games, and blocking a shot in nine of 12 games in the new year. Her season averages of nine rebounds (5th) and 1.6 blocks per game (3rd) each lead the quad and rank within the top-5 of the Empire 8 conference.Â
Postseason Outlook: With five conference games remaining, the Golden Eagles have clinched a Empire 8 Tournament berth, and are currently tied with Nazareth for the top record in the conference (10-1). Winners of eight straight, Brockport's last loss came at home against Nazareth (75-65), back on January 10th. Despite Nazareth holding the head-to-head tiebreaker, the Green and Gold control their own destiny. Wins against Nazareth, St. John Fisher, SUNY Poly, Utica, and Geneseo would secure back-to-back Empire 8 Regular Season Championships for Brockport.Â
Scouting Nazareth: The Golden Flyers have soared to the top of the Empire 8 conference and are riding a eight game winning streak, defeating SUNY Poly at home, 66-41. The winner of Saturday's game will move into the top spot of the Empire 8 standings in a meeting between two of the hottest teams in the country. The Golden Eagles completed a two-game sweep of the Golden Flyers last season, with Nazareth handing Brockport their lone conference loss this season
Scouting St. John Fisher: The Cardinals currently sit in sixth place with a 7-4 conference record, defeating Utica on Senior Day, 69-58, last Saturday. The Golden Eagles defeated the Cardinals, 78-67, back on January 9th and hold a 1-1 record against St. John Fisher since joining the Empire 8 conference.
