Auburndale, FL - The Brockport Baseball team (2-12) fell to #3-ranked Johns Hopkins (13-3), 6-2, on Tuesday, March 17th, from Auburndale, FL. Despite scoring the final two runs of the contest, the Golden Eagles would be unable to overcome a six-run Bluejay lead.
The Blue Jays would maintain a lead for the entirety of the contest, scoring six runs between the first and fourth innings. Held scoreless across the first five innings, the Golden Eagles would begin to mount a comeback in the top of the sixth.
Evan Brock would score on a wild pitch to get the Golden Eagles on the board before
Josh Indek's sacrifice fly would cut the Johns Hopkins lead to 6-2.
Despite scoreless efforts from
Logan Sajdak (3IP, 3K) and
Ryan Johnston (1IP) out of the bullpen for Brockport, the Golden Eagles would be unable to muster a late rally.
Blake Fortunato provided another multi-hit effort for the Green and Gold, finishing two-for-five on the day.
Josh Indek added Brockport's lone extra base hit of the day, finishing one-for-five with a double and an RBI.
