Brockport, NY – The men's and women's outdoor track and field teams opened up the 2026 season at the St. John Fisher Tri-Meet where they competed against the Cardinals and Nazareth.
Men's Team
Taking second in the 10000m was Carson Strauss with a mark of 33:42.19. Finn Winters-Bona took fourth running for 34:48.56.
Jared Smith showed out in the 1500m, taking first with a time of 4:08.49. Howie Vargas clinched third at 4:15.79, and Colin Fletcher-Foster finished shortly after in fourth at 4:!6.82.
In the 400m, Ayden Grinion had an impressive time of 49.70 seconds to take second place. Michael Durski crossed the line in 50.11 seconds for third, and Owen Arbocus took fifth from a time of 51.76 seconds.
In the finals of the 100m dash, Derek Grimshaw made a strong first place finish from an AARTFC qualifying time of 10.93 seconds. Alex Peske also showed out taking third at 11.19 seconds.
Thomas Canestrari crossed the line in 2:03.92 to take second in the 800m. Eduardo Salinas finished up in 2:04.18, good for third place, and Dominic Petrera ran for 2:06.55 good for fourth.
In the 200m dash, Bryce Roberts made a strong effort for a fourth-place spot from a time of 23.85 seconds.
Brockport took all three top spots in the 5000m with Connor Couperus taking first at 16:08.00, Kyle DeRomanis finishing second at 16:25.93, and Sam Fage clinching third at 16:32.08.
Duncan Harbin had a strong 39.41m throw in the discus to clinch a third place spot.
Allen Reome walked away as the javelin champion from an impressive 46.77m throw.
In the long jump, Tyler Judd finished first at 6.71m, and Collin Dicks took second also from a 6.71m jump.
Hunter Richards threw for 48.53m in the hammer throw to earn a fourth place spot.
In the shotput, Nick Right took second place with a 14.25m throw, and Mitchell Ellsworth finished fourth at 13.37m.
Cardin Chau had a day in the high jump, taking first after clearing the pole in 1.89m. Dillon Murphy clinched third at 1.79m.
In the triple jump, Judson Delany took first from a 13.13m jump into the sand, Cherrieke Bufis finished second at 12.65m, and Mason Sabe took third at 12.08m.
Women's Team
Salma Moumen started the day strong for Brockport, finishing first in the 10000m with an AARTFC qualifying time of 40:23.13.
Hailey Morrison crossed the line shortly after in second at 40:47.18.
In the 100m hurdles,
Leann Clay took second with a quick mark of 17.62 seconds, and Ellie Cusmano finished shortly after in third at 17.68 seconds.
Salvatrice Piccolo clinched a third place spot in the 1500m with a time of 5:07.02.
Taking fourth in the 800m was
Isabel Laney, running an impressive mark of 2:33.32.
Finishing first, second, and third in the 400m hurdles was
Elaina Neubert,
Monica Cammarota, and
Kyasia Hall. Neubert ran for 1:11.43, Cammarota finished in 1:12.78, and Hall crossed the line in 1:15.22.
In the 200m dash,
Courtney Bostic showed out with a second place finish from a time of 27.22 seconds.
Keziah Alngeleri fought hard for a third place mark in the women's 5000m with a time of 21:15.01.
In the discus, MeKenna Uhl threw for 35.95m good for second place, and
Savana Henry had a third place spot from a 33.90m throw.
Sasha Schramm had a day in the long jump, taking first from a 5.49m jump into the sand.
Meghan Muscarella took fourth from a 5.24m jump.
Clinching third in the hammer throw was
Rhian Crowley, throwing for 42.46m, and taking fourth was
Trinity Dees with a 41.60m throw.
Trinity Dees and
Madison Kirkpatrick took first and second in the shotput, with Dees throwing for 11.40m, and Kirkpatrick at 10.30m.
