Indoor T&F Start Two Day Regional Competition Off Strong

Brockport, NY – The indoor track and field teams delivered a strong showing on day one of the regional championships, with both the men's and women's squads turning in impressive performances across multiple events.

Men's Team

In the preliminary round of the 60m hurdles, Jeremy Chen wrapped up the day in 12th place with a quick time of 8.34 seconds.

Derek Grimshaw impressed in the preliminary round of the 60m sprint, advancing to the finals after clocking 6.93 seconds to secure the fifth qualifying spot.

The long jump saw a standout performance from Dennis Bobbitt, who soared 7.11 meters to claim a dominant third-place finish. Teammate Collin Dicks also competed well, placing 14th with a jump of 6.81 meters.

Closing out the day for the men, the 4x400 relay team of Michael Durski, Malakye Moss, Timothy Smith, and AydenGrinion ran a strong 3:18.20, earning seventh place and marking the second-fastest time in Brockport program history.

Women's Team

The distance medley relay team of Alliyah Wright, Camryn Jacobs, Lily Pink, and Salvatrice Piccolo opened the day with a solid effort, finishing 12th with a time of 12:47.56.

In the 5000m, Salma Moumen crossed the line in 18:27.17, placing 19th overall.

Brockport's pole vaulters put together strong performances, with Isabel Swyers finishing 15th at 3.27 meters. Becca Bready also cleared 3.27 meters, earning a 20th-place finish.

In the shot put, Trinity Dees recorded a strong throw of 12.31 meters to finish ninth and secure a top-ten placement.

The 4x400 relay team of Courtney Bostic, Monica Cammarota, Ariana Proper, and Alexis Rodriguez capped off their race in 4:04.25, placing 16th and moving into sixth all-time in Brockport program history.

In the long jump, Meghan Muscarella delivered an impressive leap of 5.54 meters, earning seventh place and recording the fifth-best mark in program history. Sasha Schramm also competed well, finishing 17th with a jump of 5.25 meters.

The Golden Eagles will return to the track at The Armory on Saturday, March 7 at 10 a.m. for the final day of regional competition.
