Women's Lacrosse Falls to Clarkson on the Road

POTSDAM, NY – The Brockport women's lacrosse team traveled to Potsdam on Saturday afternoon, where they fell to Clarkson University, 14–6, in non-conference action after a hard-fought battle on the turf.

Clarkson opened the game with strong offensive pressure, scoring three goals in the first quarter to take an early lead. The Golden Knights continued to control the pace in the second quarter, adding two more goals before Brockport got on the board. Tristan Davis converted a free-position opportunity to cut into the deficit.

Clarkson responded before the halftime break, scoring three additional goals to carry an 8–1 advantage into the second half.

The Golden Knights extended their lead in the third quarter, adding three more goals to push the margin further. Brockport, however, found its offensive rhythm in the final frame, scoring four unanswered goals to close out the game.

Hailey Lewkovich led the late surge, scoring twice in less than a minute with assists from Tristan Davis and Karaline McCarthy. Ciara Pogue followed with a goal off another Davis assist, while Lewkovich completed her hat trick on a pass from Amanda Evans.

Clarkson added three more goals in the closing minutes, but the Golden Eagles recorded the final goal of the contest as Journey Naab found the back of the net just before the final whistle, bringing the score to its 14–6 final.

Offensive Leaders
Hailey Lewkovich paced Brockport with three goals, while Tristan Davis totaled three points with one goal and two assists. Ciara Pogue, Amanda Evans, and Journey Naab each added one point in the contest.

In Goal
Arianna Reed and Marion Wheeler split time in net, combining to face 23 shots on goal. Reed recorded five saves, while Wheeler added four.

Up Next
Brockport returns home for a pair of games next week. The Golden Eagles will host Union College on Wednesday, March 11 at 4 p.m., followed by a matchup against Oneonta for Alumni Day on Saturday, March 14 at 12 p.m.
